The most effective aspects of this course for lecture was that there was a lot of student engagement for this class, in which helped me learn a lot, as well as with exams, very helpful with the way they were constructed for us to have two attempts in order to see where we went wrong. - Biostatistics ‘23
Thank you so much, for thoroughly providing resources and explanations. The confidence and teachings you gave made me thoroughly want to understand biostats and I finally was able to piece it all together! - Biostatistics ‘23
This was a great course, with two inclusive/knowledgeable instructors and knowledgeable classmates. I enjoyed the adaptability of the course and the go-with-the-flow nature, which greatly complemented the topic of forest ecology. To me, it felt like we were all learning how the class was going to go as it was happening, but Emily and Trevor were up-front about that set a great foundation to get back on track (through the discussion format and clear communication) if we ever got in the weeds. - Advanced Forest Ecology ‘25
Overall, I thought the course was great and provided exposure to different areas within forest ecology research that I otherwise would not have been exposed to. The process of working as a group to complete a literature review was also a great experience. Something that may have been useful to improve the class experience was a week dedicated to discussing/reviewing more advanced ecological concepts. This may be helpful to the students that are not primarily ecology focused. - Advanced Forest Ecology ‘25
